"Just Because There Is No War, Doesn't Mean We Have Peace"
“One day, one world, one word changed everything...Axanar. The Federation knew it was coming, it did not matter if your were a baby faced and doe-eyed cadet or a tried and tested Starfleet Officer, you knew. We all knew. As much as the media tried to expose the inevitable, the Government swept it under the rug and kept it behind closed quarters, but we knew it would happened. We knew the Klingons were coming. We just did not known when.
The Four Years War was tough on us all. We each lost someone that we knew whether we were close to them or not, be it a friend of a friend, or someone we bumped into at the Academy. Whoever said “War is Hell” was not mincing their words. The war changed everything and everyone it touched, even those in the long shadows lucky enough to fall outside its grasps, had a front row seat to a new era of the galaxy. Heavy casualties on both sides would leave the bitter taste of blood in the mouths of the Federation and Klingon Empire. Two gollaiths met in the Colosseum of the stars, and both publicly declaring themselves the victor, but we know. We all know that there are no winners in war.
Axanar may have been the turning point of the war for the Federation, giving us the upper hand, but for how long? Sure, the Federation citizens may sit comfortable in their own homes and hold their precious little children tight, coddling them and saying that the Klingon boogeymen are gone...for now. The Four Years War turned scientist and explorers into warriors and soldiers almost overnight. The constant fighting may have stopped, but those boogeymen are still out there stalking us from behind the borders, ears to the walls at every listening post. We know they are planning and plotting. The Four Years War with them may be over, but the Klingon Cold War has only just begun....and My Starship, My Crew will be ready”

There is a saying: "The brightest candles are those with the shortest of Wicks" which essentially means they burn brightly but quickly and therefore do not last as long.
She was feisty and full of spunk out of character as a writer and a friend, and in character her character had some heavy baggage to unload on us all, but early this morning at about 0500 hours my time, Katy our spunky little XO has left us.
Katy helped me start Musashi by giving me the push I needed after taking a brief break from sitting in the Captain's chair. Unfortunately, she also sits in two Captain's chairs of her own and picked up an XO spot elsewhere shortly after appointing herself XO for Musashi. This left her with a lot of commitments atop of schooling and it was decided it was in the best interest of all involved that she focus her energy elsewhere. She will be remembered for her brief time with us and will be missed.
However, that does not mean we slow down nor does it mean we need to look very far for a new XO. I will take care of writing off "Vic" this mission, but Ezra who plays Commander Samuels (formerly Second Officer) will become our new Executive Officer/Chief Science Officer. Ezra has already been very involved behind the scenes by helping me with Musashi. He's often fact checking things and put together a deck listing. With years of writing under his belt, I have no doubt in his abilities to make a fantastic XO.
Additionally, Kim who writes our resident Caitian Communications Officer will be absolutely Purrrrrfect my darlings as Second Officer for Musashi. Though she's only a Lieutenant, she will hold the position (Chief Medical Officer falls outside the chain of command due to being able to relieve everyone) and Kim has already done some amazing graphic work all across the site.
I personally apologize to everyone for this little command shake up. It was not planned and at the time of creation, Katy had only her one command and one XO responsibility. However, with great powers come great responsibilities and thus we have had to let Katy go be Katy.
God Speed you crazy Muchacha!
